A bunch of videos

It's been such a long time since I have posted anything on here that's not about how things are going in Berlin. I did not suddenly get cooler since I moved here: no, actually I still spend a lot of time watching videos online. Some old, some new, but to me, always relevant. If you could do with a little joy or nostalgia in your life, watch them. Maybe I will make this a regular thing.

Ed Miliband x Drake

Ed Miliband, Labour candidate in this week's UK General Election, may have lost to the Tories, but we won't forget him that easily. And it's all thanks to Vines like this one, highlighting his TV skills, especially to the sweet sound of Drake. His defeat does make the awkward smile and slow blink/hair toss much more of a punch in the gut, though.

EastEnders: You Ain't My Mother

The weird thing is I didn't even watch EastEnders (I wasn't allowed), yet I can remember this part clear as day? Watching it now is like opening a time capsule from 2001.

She's All That: Kiss Me

Remember when Freddie Prinze Jr. was in everything? And remember how he and Sarah Michelle Gellar have been married forever? Sigh. I'm pretty sure this clip is the source of the 90s/early-00s teen movie transformation scene. Plus, it's got Macaulay Culkin's brother and young Anna Paquin and Freddie is sporting a beige suede jacket.

Too Many Cooks

This is the latest of the lot - it came out last November - and it still boggles my mind. What starts as a parody of a suburban American sitcom soon becomes gruesome and weird. It's certainly not for everyone, but I enjoy trying to make sense of it.
